Engelbert Jewellery Boutique
In this exclusive jewellery boutique on Birger Jarlsgatan in Stockholm, light has been integrated in the architecture in a way that enhances the jewlelery as well as the interior. The concept for the lighting is to optimize the light in the displays for the different materials of the jewels. Different lighting scenarios exist for lighting yellow gold, white gold and diamonds in the best possible way. In addition to this, the mood of the whole boutique can change depending on the exterior lighting conditions as well as nighttime.
The light mainly comes from LED light sources with an especially good colour rendering that enhances the warm wooden materials in the interior. The light on people is warm and comfortable and in most cases soft and indirect. The ceiling and the vaults of the window frames are lit by an uplight. Fixtures are integrated in shelves and displays.
From the exterior the boutique is perceived as a sparkling pearl where the jewels are highlighted. After closing time the light levels inside are being dimmed down and the details of the architecture creates a nighttime image on street level in the city.
